Adam Richard Sandler is the son of Judy Sandler, professor in a nursing school, and of the electrical engineer Stanley Sandler, both of Jewish beliefs and of Russian descent. She has two sisters, one works as a dentist and her name is Elizabeth, and the other, named Valerie, is employed in a food industry. His brother Scott is a lawyer.
Stood out among his classmates as a group joker, considering his future as a professional comedian when, after being stimulated by his brother to act amateurly in a club in the city of Boston, his sketches were received with great enthusiasm by the attending public. At the same time that he continued with his comic representations, he did not neglect his academic career, studying Art at the University of New York, center of which he graduated in 1988. At the beginning of the 1990s he gave the jump to the West Coast to debut as a comedian in Los Angeles, city where he shared a flat with Judd Apatow.
